Why chose the Manna From Heaven Program over other weight loss programs? The Manna From Heaven Ministry supports those Christians who suffer with an Eating Disorder, such as Compulsive Overeating, Anorexia, Bulimia and Food Addiction. Diets can be effective for those who have developed poor eating habits. However, for the person with an eating disorder, diets are completely ineffective because for them food is not the issue; their issues are the issue.
______________________________________________________________________________ What is an Eating Disorder? People with eating disorders have developed a unhealthy attachment to Food. Letting Food control their life has left them with the inability to set their needed boundaries.
People with an eating disorder usually, know, or at least suspect, they have a problem. Food is the focus of their lives. They spend a lot of time thinking about food: how they are going to get it, how and when they are going to eat, how to get rid of it without it showing. They hide food, eat secretly, eat when they are not hungry, and feel guilty after over-eating. Many have developed food allergies and addictions that contribute to their problem. Can people with an Eating Disorder just pray and lose weight? NO! The Manna Program promotes Prayer as our strongest tool. But the person with an eating disorder has spent many years developing a food bondage. While Manna teaches that they cannot be free from this bondage through their self-determination and willpower, it also teaches that they must practice the changes that God has made in their lives.
______________________________________________________________________________ Does GOD Heal the person with an Eating Disorder? We as Christians worship a GOD of Healing. GOD can and does heal the person with a eating disorder. We do not put limits on our GOD.
______________________________________________________________________________ Is the Manna Program for both men and women? Yes! Men and women do equally well on the program. As usual men usually lose weight faster than the women, but the Food Plan is the same for both. Any needed adjustment on the Food Plan is acceptable with physicians approval. Meeting are held in a safe place where those present have a commitment to confidentiality.

It is not a quick-fix program that only deals with physical healing. It is a Christ-centered program, which seeks God’s help daily for permanent change, balance, and healing in all areas of life: Spiritual, Mental, and Physical.
The Program focuses on commitment, accountability, obedience, discipline, honesty, and most of all love. Many people come to the Program looking for healing and find that they develop a more intimate relationship with God. The Program includes, but is not limited to the following: Daily Devotional, Seven Actions Toward Healing (workbooks), Food Plan , Weekly Meetings, Mentors and Prayer Partners.
Not a 12 Step Program. . . The Manna From Heaven Program is not a 12 Step program, it is a program that uses the Seven Actions Toward Healing taken from God’s Word (the Bible).

Implementing a structured healthy Food Plan is important when placing new boundaries on eating. The Manna From Heaven Ministry welcomes all who wish to experience God’s healing. The Ministry is Non-denominational.

It takes as long as it takes. We with an eating disorder have developed destructive patterns in our life. Manna teaches that having an eating disorder is like rowing along in a rowboat. Life is going “okay”, when all of a sudden the boat comes to a jerking halt. Looking, we see the boat has a long rope tied to the dock. That rope is the issue from our past. No matter how hard we row, we will never get past the length of the rope. The Manna From Heaven program shows us how to row back to the dock (not to stay there), just long enough to let God untie the rope so we can get on with our lives.

Anorexia, Bulimia, or Bulimarexia
The Manna from Heaven Ministry promotes support for those Christians who suffer with eating disorders, such as Anorexia, Bulimia, or Bulimarexia.
Anorexic: (Anorexia nervosa) is an eating disorder characterized by a refusal to eat, even to the point of starvation.
Bulimia: (Bulimia nervosa) is an eating disorder characterized by episodes of uncontrolled binge eating, often involving extremely large amounts of high-calorie foods, followed by induced vomiting or the use of laxatives to “purge” the body of foods eaten during the binge. The binge eating and purging are carried out in secret.
Bulimarexia: is the eating disorder of anorexia or bulimia occurring in the same individual.
